Horizon 2020 ENSMOV project launches its Knowledge Transfer Platform on Article 7 of the Energy Efficiency Directive

BRUSSELS, Belgium, 13 April 2021 – The EU Horizon 2020 ENSMOV project has launched its Knowledge Transfer Platform, a new tool aiming at supporting the exchange of knowledge and experiences between policy makers and stakeholders across Europe on the implementation of the Article 7 of the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED), including both Energy Efficiency Obligations and alternative measures.

Materials and expert support on the EED available

Guidelines, best practices, training materials and country reports from the EU and beyond are available on the ENSMOVKnowledge Transfer Platform (KTP) and tailored to public authorities and other key stakeholders to support the implementation of energy efficiency policies. An online forum and a LinkedIn group offer the possibility to share ideas and have direct support by asking questions to the country experts for the countries listed, thus addressing national policy implementation issues, closer to the users’ needs.

A fully revised platform with new material and services

The KTP builds upon material developed under previous ENSPOL and MULTEE projects, which has been largely improved through the experience gained and new material created by the ENSMOV project. The KTP will be continuously updated, and new items and functions will be added to serve the purposes of the ENSMOV project, also including mapping of monitoring and reporting practices and guidelines.

Vlasios Oikonomou, ENSMOV project coordinator and senior researcher at the Institute for European Energy and Climate Policy Foundation (IEECP), explains: “The launch of the Knowledge Transfer Platform represents a key milestone for the ENSMOV project towards meeting its goal of supporting EU Member States in the implementation of the Article 7 of the Energy Efficiency Directive”.

The Knowledge Transfer Platform brings important added value by providing an integrated online toolbox with guidelines and other tools to address policies implementation issues of the EED all in one place, also enabling the provision of direct support and fostering collaboration among users through an online forum, as well as through webinars and peer-learning workshops”.A webinar to introduce the KTP and its main features has been scheduled on Thursday 22nd of April at 10am CET. Participation is free of charge, please register here
